Regular Season Round 8: Turk Telekom - Tesvikiye 80-93

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Turk Telekom (5-3) against sixth ranked Tesvikiye (4-4) on Saturday night. Host Turk Telekom was defeated by Tesvikiye in Ankara 93-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Turk Telekom. Tesvikiye forced 20 Turk Telekom turnovers and outrebounded them 39-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Turk Telekom was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Ahmet Yilmaz who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and Efe Dim who added 16 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five Tesvikiye players scored in double figures. Yigit Ozkan (-1) responded with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and point guard Batuhan Acar (-2) scored 27 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tesvikiye moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Turk Telekom at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with Bandirma. Tesvikiye will play against league's second-placed Tofas in Bursa in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Turk Telekom will play on the road against Arel Univ in Istanbul and hopes to get back on the winning track.
