Regular Season Round 9: Dresden - Rist Wedel 95-68

There was a minor upset in Dresden where higher ranked SC Rist Wedel (4-5) was crushed by ninth ranked Titans (4-5) 95-68 on Saturday. Titans dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to SC Rist Wedel's 32. They outrebounded SC Rist Wedel 35-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. Titans looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was center Georg Voigtmann (213-94) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. Point guard Lennard Larysz (193-97) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Emil Marshall (194-0) who recorded 17 points and 6 rebounds and forward Alexander Angerer (203-96) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Titans moved-up to sixth place in North, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated SC Rist Wedel. SC Rist Wedel lost their third game in a row. Titans will face Oldenburg (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
