Regular Season Round 9: Deutzer - Hagen BG 98-70
Date: November 16, 2019
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Deutzer and 10th ranked Hagen BG had identical 4-7 record. This time Deutzer used a home court advantage and outleveled the opponent from Hagen 98-70 on Saturday night. Deutzer outrebounded Hagen BG 49-30 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Hagen BG was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Patrick Reusch (185-93) stepped up and scored 14 points and 4 assists for the winners and center Lennart Boner (206) chipped in 15 points. Four Deutzer players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Lithuanian forward Vytautas Nedzinskas (196-87) with 19 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Soeren Fritze (190-94) scored 14 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Deutzer (5-7) moved-up to ninth place in West, which they share with Grevenbroich. Hagen BG lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with eight games lost. Deutzer will face ETB Wohnbau (#14) in Essen in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Hagen BG will play at home against Leverkusen 2 and hope to win that game.
