Regular Season Round 9: Jena 2 - TSV Troester 87-94

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Jena II (4-5) was defeated at home by fifth ranked TSV Troester (6-4) 94-87 on Saturday. TSV Troester dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Jena II's 30. Center Erik Land (205-90) stepped up and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and guard Joerg Dippold (195-92) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. TSV Troester's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American Vincent Garrett (198-91, college: Green Bay) with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian point guard Vuk Radojicic (185-1) scored 24 points and 4 assists. Four Jena II players scored in double figures. TSV Troester moved-up to second place in South-East. Jena II lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with five games lost. TSV Troester will face Herzogenaurach (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Jena II will play against the league's leader Ansbach and hope to win that game.
