Regular Season Round 11: Rytas - Prienai CBet 88-64
Date: November 16, 2019
There was no surprise in Vilnius where 5th ranked Prienai CBet (4-6) was crushed by second ranked Rytas (7-2) 88-64. The game was mostly controlled by Rytas. Prienai CBet was better in second period 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rytas dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Prienai CBet's 36. Rytas forced 24 Prienai CBet turnovers and had a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Australian forward Cameron Bairstow (206-90, college: N.Mexico) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 6 rebounds. Center Marek Blazevic (207-1) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Rytas players scored in double figures. American power forward Skylar Spencer (206-94, college: San Diego St.) answered with 11 points and 8 rebounds and Estonian guard Kerr Kriisa (189-1) added 12 points and 6 assists in the effort for Prienai CBet. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rytas maintains second place with 7-2 record having four points less than leader Zalgiris. Prienai CBet lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Rytas will play against Neptunas (#3) in Klaipeda in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Prienai CBet will play at home against P.Zvaigzdes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
