Regular Season Round 7: Benfica - Terceira 111-58

Bottom-ranked Terceira is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their seventh consecutive match to second ranked Benfica (6-1) 111-58. Benfica dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Terceira's 24. They outrebounded Terceira 45-23 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Benfica players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Terceira's players. It was a great evening for American guard Toure Murry (196-89, college: Wichita St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Rafael Lisboa (185-99) helped adding 7 points and 17 assists. Four Benfica players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Tyrell Williams (206-94, college: Albany St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import point guard Deshaunt Walker (180-91, college: SF Austin) scored 15 points. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Benfica. They maintain second place with 6-1 record behind leader FC Porto, which they share with Sporting and Oliveirense. Terceira lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Benfica will play against Galitos-Barreiro (#5) on the road in the next round. Terceira will play against Lusitania (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
