Regular Season Round 10: Piraten - KOS 76-70

There was no surprise in Klagenfurt where 10th ranked KOS (3-7) was defeated by seventh ranked Worthersee Piraten (5-5) 76-70 on Saturday. KOS was trailing by 11 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 24-16 charge of Worthersee Piraten, which allowed them to win the game. They made 35-of-44 free shots (79.5 percent) during the game, while KOS only scored fifteen points from the stripe. Slovenian guard Tevz Ruzic (193-95) scored 25 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Lukas Simoner (190-99) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Marin Sliskovic (200-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized Slovenian forward Andi Smrtnik (195-94) scored 15 points. KOS's coach Igor Pucko rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Worthersee Piraten moved-up to sixth place. KOS at the other side keeps the tenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Tirol. Worthersee Piraten will meet at home higher ranked Rocks (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. KOS will play against Flames (#7) in Vienna and hope to secure a win.
