Regular Season Round 9: Stade - Wusterhausen 80-81

A very close game took place in Stade between WSG Koenigs and Stade. Eighth ranked WSG Koenigs (4-5) got a very close victory on the road over 6th ranked Stade (4-3). WSG Koenigs managed to escape with a 1-point win 81-80 on Sunday evening. The best player for the winners was swingman Acha Njei (195-85) who scored 27 points and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). American forward Jerrell Martin (198-95, college: Siena Heights) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Spanish point guard Nil Angelats (185-93) who recorded 22 points and 7 rebounds and Jamo Ruppert (188-94) added 13 points respectively. WSG Koenigs maintains eighth place in North with 4-5 record. Loser Stade keeps the sixth position with three games lost. WSG Koenigs will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Stade will play against Bergedorf (#11) and hope to secure a win.
