They outrebounded P.Zvaigzdes 37-19 including a 33-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Zalgiris especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by P.Zvaigzdes' players. 26 personal fouls committed by P.Zvaigzdes helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American power forward Zach LeDay (201-94, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Wasserman) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The former international Paulius Jankunas (205-84) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Five Zalgiris players scored in double figures. American center Trevor Thompson (213-94, college: Ohio St.) produced 12 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard John Gillon (183-94, college: Syracuse) added 12 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zalgiris (10-0) have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 10 victories in a row. P.Zvaigzdes at the other side keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Nevezis. Zalgiris are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Dzukija (#10) in Alytus in the next round and are hoping to win another game. P.Zvaigzdes will play on the road against Prienai CBet and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
