Regular Season Round 9: Lemvig - Aabyhoj 79-88

Rather expected game when bottom-ranked Lemvig (0-8) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Aabyhoj (3-4) 88-79 on Wednesday. Lemvig was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 25-15 charge of Aabyhoj, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 22 Lemvig turnovers. Strangely Lemvig outrebounded Aabyhoj 44-22 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. International guard Alberte Rimdal (174-2) stepped up and scored 27 points and 4 assists for the winners and swingman Stephanie Mannemar-Jensen (180-90) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Canadian forward Sofia Paska (193-96) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 20 rebounds and American guard Maddie Dackin (175-96, college: Ashland) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Four Lemvig players scored in double figures. Aabyhoj maintains fourth place with 3-4 record. Lemvig lost their eighth game in a row. They still close the standings with eight games lost. Aabyhoj will face league's leader Horsholm at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lemvig will play against SISU (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
