Regular Season Round 7: Kretingos SM - Siauliu 74-95

Bottom-ranked Kretingos SM (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 95-74 loss to eighth ranked Siauliu (3-3) in Kretinga. The game was mostly controlled by Siauliu. Kretingos SM was better in third quarter 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Siauliu forced 25 Kretingos SM turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for guard Domas Uosis (186-2) who led the winners and scored 18 points, 8 assists and 5 steals. Vilius Slanina (-3) accounted for 23 points for the winning side. Five Siauliu players scored in double figures. Siauliu's coach Laimonas Miksys felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tadas Budrys (-2) came up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds and Rokas Zilinskis (-2) added 18 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Kretingos SM in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Siauliu. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Vilniaus KM II and Tornado KM. Kretingos SM lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. Siauliu's next round opponent will be Marijampoles (#10) at home. Kretingos SM will play against Pasvalio and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
