There was an upset when higher ranked Leverkusen 2 (7-6) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Hagen BG (5-8) 93-81 on Friday. It was a great shooting night for Hagen BG especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. Leverkusen 2 was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Soeren Fritze (190-94) fired 23 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Salathiel Ligons (201-84) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Four Hagen BG players scored in double figures. Center Benjamin Nick (206-97, college: Whitworth) produced 24 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Jacob Engelhardt (178-97) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Leverkusen 2's coach Matt Watson tested eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Hagen BG moved-up to tenth place in West, which they share with Wulfen and Grevenbroich. Loser Leverkusen 2 keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Hagen BG will face league's second-placed Ibbenbueren at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
