Regular Season Round 12: Jena - Tuebingen 86-78

Date: November 23, 2019
There was no surprise when 7th ranked Walter Tigers (6-5) were defeated on the road by third ranked Science City Jena (10-2) 86-78 on Saturday. Walter Tigers were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American center Alex Herrera (206-92, college: Fort Lewis, agency: Two Points) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Naturalized Polish swingman Dennis Nawrocki (193-92) chipped in 20 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Justin Strings (201-96, college: Sacramento St.) who recorded 27 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Kris Davis (188-93, college: SIUE, agency: Promo Sport ID) added 15 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Walter Tigers' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Science City Jena have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Bremerhaven. Loser Walter Tigers keep the seventh position with five games lost. Science City Jena will face league's leader Chemnitz on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Walter Tigers will play against Nuernberg (#4) and hope to win that game.
