The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked BK Duchess (5-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Linz Wels (1-6). BK Duchess smashed Linz Wels 80-50 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by BK Duchess. Linz Wels managed to win third quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. BK Duchess forced 24 Linz Wels turnovers. Pia Zderadicka (175-91) fired 18 points for the winners. Nina Pettinger (180-98) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Simone Schwarzinger (177-96) produced 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Marlies Kolin (179-92) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Linz Wels' coach Dana Beszczysnki gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. BK Duchess maintains second place with 5-2 record behind leader UBI Graz. Loser Linz Wels keep the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Timberwolves. BK Duchess will meet at home league's leader UBI Graz in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Linz Wels will play against Flying Foxes (#3) in Vienna and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
