Regular Season Round 16: Zalgiris II - Ezerunas 79-89

Another interesting game for Ezerunas (8-7) which played in Kaunas against 5th ranked Zalgiris II (7-8). Sixth ranked Ezerunas had an easy win 89-79. Ezerunas had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Ezerunas brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Zalgiris II was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Rokas Jukonis (194-90) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Dominykas Zupkauskas (186-96) who added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five Ezerunas players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Erikas Venskus (205-0) responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds and Vitalijus Kozys (201-99) scored 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Zalgiris II's coach Arvydas Gronskis rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Ezerunas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Perlas. Zalgiris II lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Delikatesas. Ezerunas will play against higher ranked Neptunas-Akv. (#4) in Klaipeda in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Zalgiris II will play at home against Palanga and hopes to get back on the winning track.
