The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Wuerzburg as it allowed them to take a leadership position in South. Wuerzburg smashed 12th ranked Loewen at home 97-70. Wuerzburg forced 21 Loewen turnovers and had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Loewen's players. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Joshua Obiesie (198-0, agency: Wasserman) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Oliver Pahnke (187-98) replied with 9 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Robert Franklin (195-81, college: N.Mexico Highlands) added 10 points and 5 assists in the effort for Loewen. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Wuerzburg (8-1) have an impressive six-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Loewen lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with nine games lost. Loewen will play next round against FC Bayern II trying to get back on the winning streak. Wuerzburg will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked White Wings in Hanau.
