Regular Season Round 9: Targu Secuiesc - Arad 55-77

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Targu Secuiesc (3-2) against fourth ranked Arad (3-1) on Sunday night. Host Targu Secuiesc was crushed by Arad in Targu Secuiesc 77-55. It was a key game for the second position in Nationala. It looked good early as Targu Secuiesc took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Arad had a 19-12 second period charge getting the lead and Targu Secuiesc was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 55-77. Arad had a 29-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. Serbian power forward Jefimija Karakasevic (191-89) stepped up and scored 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and American swingman Adrienne Webb (175-90, college: LSU) chipped in 17 points. Four Arad players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Kayla Mobley (180-90, college: Clayton St.) with 17 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Jade Vega (165-97, college: CS Fullerton) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Arad moved-up to second place in Nationala. Targu Secuiesc at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. Arad will play against league's leader Satu Mare at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Targu Secuiesc will play against Targu Mures and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
