Regular Season Round 7: Carnide - AD Vagos 90-78

We should mention about the upset which took place in , where 4th placed AD Vagos (4-2) lost to ninth ranked Carnide (3-4) in a road game 78-90 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of AD Vagos. Carnide looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The game was dominated by American players. It was a great evening for forward Kayla Gordon (183-95, college: Jacksonville) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 18 rebounds. Guard Ivory Crawford (178-92, college: Illinois) helped adding 25 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Crawford is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side guard Doniyah Cliney (181-96, college: S.Carolina) responded with 30 points and 9 rebounds and guard Brandi Buie (173-96, college: Jacksonville) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. AD Vagos' coach Joao Janeiro rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Carnide moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Vitoria SC. Loser AD Vagos keep the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Benfica. Carnide will meet G.S.C. (#10) in the next round. AD Vagos will play against Olivais (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
