Regular Season Round 9: Krofdorf - Gruenberg 59-62

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Baskets Grunberg (5-3) edged 9th ranked Krofdorf (1-3) in Giessen 62-59 on Sunday. Strangely Krofdorf outrebounded Baskets Grunberg 42-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for American guard Cassidy Mihalko (180-95, college: CBU) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Luzie Hegele (174-1) contributed with 17 points for the winners. American swingman Darien Huff (175-97, college: Charleston) answered with 18 points and 8 rebounds and Czech center Tereza Kracikova (188-96, college: Drexel) added 13 points and 9 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) in the effort for Krofdorf. Baskets Grunberg moved-up to third place in North. Loser Krofdorf keeps the ninth position with three games lost. Baskets Grunberg will have a break next round. Krofdorf will play at home against Osnabrueck 2 (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
