Regular Season Round 8: Fenerbahce G. - Emlak Konut 54-70

There was no surprise in Istanbul where 13th ranked Fenerbahce G. (2-6) was defeated by second ranked Emlak Konut (7-1) 70-54 on Sunday. Emlak Konut dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Fenerbahce G.'s 30. Emlak Konut forced 26 Fenerbahce G. turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Nihal Gungor (-90) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 5 assists and 7 steals and the former international forward Bahar Yapar (179-89) who added 10 points during the contest. Four Emlak Konut players scored in double figures. Emlak Konut's coach Vedat Saglik used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ukrainian center Olena Staschuk (192-85, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) responded with 23 points and 9 rebounds and Doga Adican (-1) scored 15 points. Newly promoted Emlak Konut maintains second position with 7-1 record having just three points less than leader Istanbul Univ. Fenerbahce G. lost fourth consecutive game. Fenerbahce G. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth place with six games lost. Emlak Konut will face Urla BLD (#12) in Izmir in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fenerbahce G. will play against Bayrakli and hope to win that game.
