Regular Season Round 9: Vienna - Klosterneuburg 98-83

The game between second ranked Dukes (7-2) and ninth ranked Hallmann (2-7) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Dukes were defeated by Hallmann in Vienna 83-98. The game was mostly controlled by Hallmann. Dukes managed to win third quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. Hallmann looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for the former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) who led his team to a victory with 44 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 5 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Israeli center Anton Shoutvin (206-89) contributed with 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Maximilian Hopfgartner (206-92, college: John Brown, agency: Dynamics Global Management) answered with 20 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian Predrag Miletic (193-84) added 16 points and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) in the effort for Dukes. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hallmann moved-up to eighth place, which they share with UBSC Graz. Dukes at the other side keep the second position with two games lost. They share it with Gmunden. Hallmann is again looking forward to face league's second-placed Dukes in Klosterneuburg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dukes will have a break next round.
