Not a big story in a game in Istanbul where 8th ranked Arel Univ (3-6) was defeated by third ranked Turk Telekom (6-3) 77-72 on Sunday. Turk Telekom outrebounded Arel Univ 52-33 including a 38-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Point guard Batuhan Acar (-2) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and Yigit Ozkan (-1) chipped in 18 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was Selahattin Yalcin (-1) with 20 points and 4 assists and Safak Yurdakulu (-1) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Turk Telekom maintains third place with 6-3 record having just two points less than leader Anadolu Efes, which they share with Bandirma and TED Ankara. Loser Arel Univ dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Turk Telekom will face Afyon (#10) in Afyonkarahisar in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Arel Univ will play at home against the league's second-placed Tofas and hope to win that game.
