Regular Season Round 8: V.Rytas - Tornado KM 65-61

No shocking result in a game when top-ranked Vilniaus Silputa (6-0) beat at home 7th ranked Tornado KM (3-4) 65-61 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Tornado KM won third quarter 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kruminis Augustinas (-2) orchestrated the victory by scoring 11 points. Matas Mikenas (-3) contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Laurynas Virbalas (179-2) replied with 19 points and 4 assists and guard Matas Norkunas (187-2) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Tornado KM. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Vilniaus Silputa have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 6-0 record behind leader Panevezio. Loser Tornado KM dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. Vilniaus Silputa's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Vilniaus to the arena Sostines.
