Regular Season Round 10: Bernau - BSW Sixers 73-71

Leading Sixers (8-2) recorded its second loss on the court of fifth ranked SSV Lok Bernau. Visitors were edged by SSV Lok Bernau 73-71. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Sixers. SSV Lok Bernau made 23-of-25 charity shots (92.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Sixers 40-24 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Alexander Blessig (188-93, college: Rollins, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) scored 19 points and 7 assists (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Dan Oppland (203-84, college: Valpo) chipped in 16 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. SSV Lok Bernau's coach Rene Schilling allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side American power forward Justin Smith (201-87, college: Hawaii-Hilo) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and Croatian point guard Luka Petkovic (190-88) scored 16 points and 4 assists. SSV Lok Bernau (6-4) moved-up to third place in North, which they share with Muenster and Itzehoe. Sixers at the other side still keep top position with two games lost. They share it with Schwelm. SSV Lok Bernau will play against Titans (#7) in Dresden in the next round. Sixers will play at home against the league's second-placed SG Schwelmer Baskets (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
