Regular Season Round 9: Pinar Karsiyaka - Bursaspor 87-62

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Bursaspor (2-7) was outplayed on the road by ninth ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (2-7) 87-62 on Monday. Pinar Karsiyaka dominated down low during the game scoring 38 of its points in the paint compared to Bursaspor's 16. They outrebounded Bursaspor 37-26 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Power forward Adem Bona (206-3) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 6 blocks for the winners and Murat Dere (-3) chipped in 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Pinar Karsiyaka players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Mustafa Atasoy (195-1) with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Ahmed Koc (-3) scored 17 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pinar Karsiyaka moved-up to eighth place, which they share with defeated Bursaspor. Pinar Karsiyaka will face higher ranked TED Ankara (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
