Rather predictable result in Hanau where first ranked Wuerzburg (9-2) smashed 5th ranked White Wings (5-6) 124-86 on Wednesday. Wuerzburg shot 61.6 percent from the field and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Wuerzburg had a 29-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 58.1 percentage. Wuerzburg looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for point guard Joshua Obiesie (198-0, agency: Wasserman) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Lithuanian forward Rytis Pipiras (201-95) helped adding 25 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Spanish guard Miguel Servera (198-92) responded with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Till-Joscha Joenke (193-92) scored 18 points. Five Wuerzburg and four White Wings players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Wuerzburg. They maintain first place in South with 9-2 record, which they share with Elchingen. Loser White Wings dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Wuerzburg will face league's leader Elchingen at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. White Wings will play against OrangeAcademy (#7) in Ulm and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
