Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Ereliai Mazeikiai (5-11) was defeated on the road by second ranked Silute (14-2) 88-82. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Silute players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American swingman Omar Alston (203-97, college: Morehouse) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Byron Sanford (182-93, college: Trevecca Naz.) contributed with 13 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Rokas Stankevicius (-0) answered with 21 points and point guard Mantvydas Staniulis (187-97) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists in the effort for Ereliai Mazeikiai. Four Silute and five Ereliai Mazeikiai players scored in double figures. Ereliai Mazeikiai's coach Aloyzas Rudys rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Silute have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Telsiai. Ereliai Mazeikiai at the other side dropped to the eleventh place with 11 games lost. Silute's next round opponent will be Taurages (#11) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Ereliai Mazeikiai will play against the league's leader Telsiai and hope to win that game.
