Very important is a home loss of third ranked Brasov (4-4) against sixth ranked Rapid Bucuresti (3-5) on Friday night. Host Brasov was defeated by Rapid Bucuresti in a tough game in Brasov 87-92. Brasov was ahead by 12 points at the halftime before a 56-39 second half run of Rapid Bucuresti. They also forced 23 Brasov turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Rapid Bucuresti especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. The former international guard Florina Stanici (170-82) notched 22 points, 8 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and Moldovan guard Natalia Burlakova (175-84) supported her with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Rapid Bucuresti players scored in double figures. Even 24 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 6 steals by Serbian Biljana Pesovic (180-83) did not help to save the game for Brasov. Bosnian point guard Dragana Zubac (179-1) added 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Rapid Bucuresti moved-up to fourth place in Nationala. Brasov at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Rapid Bucuresti will play against league's leader Sf.Gheorghe in Sfantu Gheorghe in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Brasov will play on the road against the league's second-placed CSM Targoviste and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
