Regular Season Round 8: Ankara B. - Samsun 77-76

Ankara B. has finally registered their first victory this season after seven consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Samsun (1-7) 77-76 on Friday. The best player for the winners was point guard Ali Kavaklioglu (186-86) who scored 37 points (!!!) and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). American guard Larry Austin-Jr (188-96, college: Cent Michigan) chipped in 9 points and 6 rebounds. Ankara B.'s coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. North Macedonian center Predrag Samardziski (215-86, agency: BeoBasket) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Cagdas Erdogan (188-88) added 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Four Samsun players scored in double figures. Ankara B. left bottom position moving up to fifteenth place, which they share with defeated Samsun. It was Samsun's third loss in a row. Ankara B. will meet higher ranked Duzce Belediye (#13) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Samsun will play against the league's second-placed Socar Petkim and will have a slim chance for a victory.
