Regular Season Round 10: Oberwart - UBSC Graz 87-73

BSL top team - Gunners Oberwart (9-1) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat eighth ranked UBSC Graz (2-8) 87-73. The hosts trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 14 points. Gunners Oberwart made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by UBSC Graz's players. 26 personal fouls committed by UBSC Graz helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Estonian power forward Saimon Sutt (200-95) scored 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Renato Poljak (197-97) chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Gunners Oberwart players scored in double figures. At the losing side Croatian Marko Car (188-85) responded with 28 points and American guard Anton Beard (183-96, college: Arkansas) scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gunners Oberwart have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-1 record. UBSC Graz at the other side keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Vienna. Gunners Oberwart are looking forward to face Kapfenberg Bulls (#4) on the road in the next round. UBSC Graz will play against UBC St. Poelten (#5) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
