Regular Season Round 12: Flames - Deutsch-Wagram 87-63

Bottom-ranked Deutsch-Wagram (0-12) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 12th consecutive match to sixth ranked Flames (6-5) 87-63. The game without a history. Flames led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Flames outrebounded Deutsch-Wagram 43-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. The winners were led by naturalized Argentinian forward Fabricio Vay (207-86, agency: Interperformances) who had that evening a triple-double by scoring 32 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and American-French forward Justin Vallejo (197-95, college: Piedmont) supported him with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Four Flames players scored in double figures. Even 13 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) by center Martin Wustinger (204-1) did not help to save the game for Deutsch-Wagram. Point guard Lukas Hofer (182-92) added 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Flames maintains sixth position with 6-5 record. Newly promoted Deutsch-Wagram still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Flames will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Deutsch-Wagram will play on the road against KOS (#11) in Celovec and hopes to get finally their first victory.
