Regular Season Round 18: Gargzdu - Neptunas-Akv. 81-79

A very interesting game took place in Gargzdai. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Neptunas-Akv. (11-5) to ninth ranked Gargzdu (7-9) 81-79 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Neptunas-Akv.. Gargzdu players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Laurynas Mikalauskas (205-85, college: Virginia) notched 28 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and swingman Mantas Ruikis (197-85) supported him with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Even 19 points by Deividas Rasys (197-97) did not help to save the game for Neptunas-Akv.. Guard Adomas Sidarevicius (188-1) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Neptunas-Akv.'s coach Tomas Gaidamavicius tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Gargzdu maintains ninth position with 7-9 record. Neptunas-Akv. at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Gargzdu's next round opponent will be Taurages (#12) at home. Neptunas-Akv. will play against Ereliai Mazeikiai (#13) and hope to win that game.
