Regular Season Round 10: Buyukcekmece - Turk Telekom 91-90

A very interesting game took place in Buyukcekmece. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 11th ranked Turk Telekom (3-7) to fourteenth ranked Buyukcekmece (3-7) 91-90 in the fight for the twelfth place. Buyukcekmece made 26-of-30 charity shots (86.7 percent) during the game, while Turk Telekom only scored five points from the stripe. Strangely Turk Telekom outrebounded Buyukcekmece 35-20 including 25 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Turk Telekom helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American Andrew Andrews (188-93, college: Washington) fired 26 points and 6 assists for the winners. The other American import point guard Kenny Hayes (186-87, college: Miami, OH, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 25 points and 8 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!). Four Buyukcekmece players scored in double figures. Canadian power forward Kyle Wiltjer (208-92, college: Gonzaga) produced 25 points and 7 rebounds and Muhammed Baygul (191-92) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Buyukcekmece moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Turk Telekom and Afyon. Turk Telekom lost fifth consecutive game. Buyukcekmece's next round opponent will be Acibadem (#15) in Istanbul.
