Bottom-ranked Mitteldeutscher BC managed to get a second victory, breaking the eight-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time they won against seventh-ranked SC Rasta Vechta 88-84. Mitteldeutscher BC made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Serbian point guard Jovan Novak (188-94, agency: BeoBasket) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 assists to lead the effort and American guard Andrew Warren (196-87, college: Bradley) supported him with 19 points. Even 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by American guard Steve Vasturia (196-95, college: Notre Dame) did not help to save the game for SC Rasta Vechta. His fellow American import swingman Trevis Simpson (193-91, college: UNCG) added 15 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Mitteldeutscher BC (2-8) moved-up to fifteenth place. Loser SC Rasta Vechta dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Mitteldeutscher BC will meet Telekom Baskets (#16) in the next round. SC Rasta Vechta will play against the league's second-placed EnBW Ludwigsburg (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
