Regular Season Round 11: Giessen - Ulm BBU 01 71-79

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked BBU 01 Ulm (4-7) beat on the road higher ranked Giessen Pointers (5-6) 79-71 on Saturday. Kristofer Krause (190-0) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Marius Stoll (197-99) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five BBU 01 Ulm players scored in double figures. American forward Tyrell Sturdivant (201-95, college: Stony Brook) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Lucas Mayer (183-99) added 18 points in the effort for Giessen Pointers. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BBU 01 Ulm moved-up to tenth place in South-West, which they share with Stuttgart and Mannheim. Loser Giessen Pointers keep the seventh position with six games lost. BBU 01 Ulm will face Tuebingen II (#13) at home in the next round.
