Regular Season Round 11: Aschersleben - Neustadt TSV 95-88

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Aschersleben (8-2) defeated at home 5th ranked Neustadt TSV (6-4) 95-88 on Saturday. Aschersleben made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Eduard Hoffmann (185-97) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Lithuanian swingman Lukas Kazlauskas (188-92) contributed with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. American-Jamaican center Brandon McLean (201-95, college: Huntingdon) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and point guard Abdulai Abaker (186-96) added 17 points in the effort for Neustadt TSV. Four Aschersleben and five Neustadt TSV players scored in double figures. Aschersleben maintains third place in North with 8-2 record behind leader Ansbach. Loser Neustadt TSV keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Aschersleben will face Stade (#7) on the road in the next round. Neustadt TSV will play against Vechta-2 and hope to win that game.
