Regular Season Round 10: Turk Telekom - Afyon 110-72

Bottom-ranked Afyon (0-10) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 110-72 loss to third ranked Turk Telekom (7-3) in Ankara. They also forced 26 Afyon turnovers and outrebounded them 49-31 including 18 on the offensive glass. Turk Telekom players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Afyon's players. Forward Mevlut Dogan (201-3) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and Onurcan Tekbas (-2) supported him with 14 points and 4 assists. Five Turk Telekom players scored in double figures. Even 30 points, 5 assists and 4 steals (made all of his seven free throws) by Furkan Ozcan (-1) did not help to save the game for Afyon. Veli Yildiz (-2) added 21 points and 12 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Turk Telekom maintains third position with 7-3 record having just two points less than leader Anadolu Efes, which they share with Bandirma and TED Ankara. Afyon at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost. Turk Telekom's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Tofas in Bursa and it will be for sure the game of the week. Afyon will play at home against Ozel Gelisim Koleji (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
