There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Grevenbroich (6-8) won against at home higher ranked Dorsten (6-8) 82-69 on Saturday. Grevenbroich made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. American-Dutch swingman Jamal Smith (197-92, college: Chattanooga St) orchestrated the victory by scoring 30 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Naturalized American Ryon Howard (198-84, college: Sacred Heart) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Adam Pickett (185-94, college: Winthrop) answered with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and center Wilhelm Koehler (206-88) added 9 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Dorsten. Grevenbroich moved-up to eighth place in West, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Dorsten. Dorsten lost fourth consecutive game. Grevenbroich will face league's second-placed Dragons Rhoendorf at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
