Regular Season Round 11: Recklinghausen - Herford 90-88

A very close game took place in Recklinghausen between Recklinghausen and Herford. Seventh ranked Recklinghausen (8-6) got a very close home victory over 4th placed Herford (9-5). Recklinghausen managed to escape with a 2-point win 90-88 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Herford. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Antoine Myers (191-90, college: Troy) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 7 rebounds. Dutch forward Frederik Adriaans (200-95, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) accounted for 18 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Recklinghausen's coach Johannes Huelsmann used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Omar Zemhoute (194-91) came up with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Lithuanian forward Vaidotas Volkus (203-85, college: Redlands CC) added 22 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Herford in the defeat. Four Herford players scored in double figures. Recklinghausen moved-up to sixth place in West, which they share with Leverkusen 2. Loser Herford keeps the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Hertener Loewen. Recklinghausen will meet Hagen-Haspe (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Herford will play against Hagen BG (#11) and hope to secure a win.
