Regular Season Round 6: Quakenbrueck - Jena 74-80

Another exciting game was played in Quakenbrueck between sixth ranked SC Jena and 7th ranked Young Dragons where SC Jena (2-4) beat Young Dragons (1-5) on the road 80-74. SC Jena dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Young Dragons' 30. SC Jena forced 20 Young Dragons turnovers and outrebounded them 56-42 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for Vincent Hofmann (204-1, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Lorenz Bank (187-1) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Four SC Jena players scored in double figures. Point guard Fynn Aumann (187-1) replied with 19 points and 6 rebounds and Moritz Dresing (194-1) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Young Dragons. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SC Jena maintains sixth position in A North with 2-4 record. Young Dragons at the other side keep the seventh place with five games lost. SC Jena will play against Ruhr (#8) in Essen in the next round. Young Dragons will play on the road against AB Baskets in Berlin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
