Regular Season Round 13: Prienai CBet - Juventus 74-80

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Prienai CBet (5-7) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Juventus (5-6) 80-74. It looked good early as Prienai CBet took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Juventus had a 33-17 second period charge getting the lead and Prienai CBet was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 74-80. They outrebounded Prienai CBet 37-25 including 24 on the defensive glass. 29 personal fouls committed by Prienai CBet helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a very good performance for Gytis Radzevicius (195-95) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Power forward Zygimantas Skucas (201-92, agency: Agency) contributed with 17 points for the winners. American power forward Skylar Spencer (206-94, college: San Diego St.) answered with 11 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Martynas Varnas (196-97) added 11 points in the effort for Prienai CBet. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Juventus moved-up to fifth place. Prienai CBet at the other side dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Juventus' next round opponent will be Siauliai (#7) at home. Prienai CBet will play against the league's second-placed Lietkabelis and hope to win that game.
