Istanbul Uni (9-1) recorded its first loss on the court of seventh ranked Duzce Bld on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by Duzce Bld 74-71. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Istanbul Uni. Duzce Bld forced 26 Istanbul Uni turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Istanbul Uni helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American-Lebanese center Chanita Jordan (196-87, college: Bowie St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. Power forward Betul Gulec (183-97) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Yagmur Bul (164-96) who recorded 24 points and 7 rebounds and forward Meltem Topaloglu (178-99) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Duzce Bld (6-4) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Bursa BSB. Istanbul Uni at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Duzce Bld is looking forward to face Mersin Uni (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Istanbul Uni will play against Yalova Vip (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
