Regular Season Round 9: Tornado KM - V.Alpi Baltika 76-70

Vilniaus KM II (#5) was upset in Kaunas by eighth ranked Tornado KM 76-70. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 41-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Tornado KM outrebounded Vilniaus KM II 52-37 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Domantas Butkys (195-2) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Kostas Cepavicius (194-2) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 18 rebounds. Four Tornado KM players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Ignotas Razanas (178-2) who recorded 15 points and 5 rebounds and forward Rokas Sivickas (195-2) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tornado KM (4-4) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Zalgiris U18 and Siauliu. Loser Vilniaus KM II dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Tornado KM will meet Siauliu (#8) in the next round. Vilniaus KM II's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Vilniaus Sostines.
