Regular Season Round 11: SISU - Amager 49-71

Rather expected game when 5th ranked SISU (3-6) was smashed by second ranked Amager (8-1) in Copenhagen 71-49 on Monday. The game without a history. Amager led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 23 SISU turnovers and outrebounded them 47-35 including 20 on the offensive glass. American forward Ruth Sherrill (183-94, college: Temple) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds. International forward Elisabeth Hansen (177-93) contributed with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Amager players scored in double figures. International guard Ida Pretzmann (178-90, college: TCU) answered with 11 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and center Helene Dalsgaard (185-99) added 6 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for SISU. SISU's coach Eleni Kafantari gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Amager. Defending champion maintains second place with 8-1 record having just three points less than leader Horsholm. SISU at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Amager will face league's leader Horsholm at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
