Regular Season Round 7: Cherkasy - Odessa 92-76

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Odessa's (5-6) road loss to fifth ranked Cherkasy (6-6) 76-92 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Cherkasy. Odessa was better in fourth quarter 26-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cherkasy shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Dion Wright (201-93, college: St.Bonaventure) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. Bosnian power forward Sead Hadzifejzovic (202-89, agency: 011 Sports) helped adding 16 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Mike Holloway-Jr (201, college: Fair Dickinson) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Bruce Massey (190-90, college: MTSU) scored 10 points and 8 assists. Five Odessa players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Cherkasy maintains fifth place with 6-6 record. Loser Odessa keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Cherkasy will face higher ranked Kyiv Basket (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Odessa will play against the league's leader Prometey and hope to win that game.
