Regular Season Round 11: Satu Mare - Oradea 87-32
Date: December 7, 2019
Bottom-ranked Oradea (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 87-32 loss to second ranked Satu Mare (5-1) in Satu Mare on Saturday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Oradea's 18 and made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Satu Mare forced 30 Oradea turnovers. The best player for the winners was international guard Alina Podar (178-98) who scored 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Russian forward Julia Gladkova (185-94) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Satu Mare players scored in double figures. Point guard Ruxandra Chis (176-93) produced 11 points and 6 rebounds and Montenegrin center Teodora Saric (190-98) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Satu Mare maintains second place in Nationala with 5-1 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Arad. Loser Oradea still closes the standings with seven games lost. Satu Mare will face Targu Secuiesc (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Oradea will play against Cluj Napoca and hopes to get finally their first victory.
