Regular Season Round 13: Art.Dragons - Trier 62-70

Very expected game when 14th ranked Artland Dragons (3-9) lost to eighth ranked Gladiators (6-6) in Quakenbrueck 62-70 on Saturday. Gladiators forced 22 Artland Dragons turnovers. Strangely Artland Dragons outrebounded Gladiators 37-23 including a 31-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for American Kyle Dranginis (195-92, college: Gonzaga) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 6 assists. His fellow American import guard Jordan Geist (188-97, college: Missouri) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Center Robert Oehle (209-88) answered with 22 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: PFW) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Artland Dragons. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gladiators maintains eighth place with 6-6 record, which they share with Uni Baskets. Loser Artland Dragons dropped to the fifteenth position with nine games lost. Gladiators will face higher ranked Science City Jena (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Artland Dragons will play against the league's leader Chemnitz (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
