Regular Season Round 12: Vechta 2 - Neustadt TSV 77-87

Very expected game when 11th ranked Vechta-2 (3-8) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Neustadt TSV (7-4) 87-77 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Abdulai Abaker (186-96) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 9 rebounds and American-Jamaican center Brandon McLean (201-95, college: Huntingdon) who added 17 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Neustadt TSV players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Malte Giljan (205-95) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 22 rebounds and Tim Insinger (209-97) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Vechta-2's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Neustadt TSV maintains fifth position in North with 7-4 record, which they share with Langenhagen. Vechta-2 lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with eight games lost. Neustadt TSV will face Stade (#7) at home in the next round. Vechta-2 will play against the league's second-placed Wolmirstedt and hope to win that game.
