Regular Season Round 11: Kapfenberg - Oberwart 87-80

The biggest surprise took place in Kapfenberg where host Kapfenberg Bulls (8-3) beat league's leader Gunners Oberwart (9-2) 87-80 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Gunners Oberwart. Kapfenberg Bulls made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Kapfenberg Bulls had a 30-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Kapfenberg Bulls especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was Serbian point guard Bogic Vujosevic (192-92) who scored 30 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). American forward Willie Atwood (201-94, college: ASU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Lawrence Alexander (190-91, college: NDSU) produced 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Estonian power forward Saimon Sutt (200-95) added 19 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kapfenberg Bulls have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 8-3 record. Gunners Oberwart at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Gmunden who have the same record. Gunners Oberwart will play next round against league's leader Gmunden Swans trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Kapfenberg Bulls will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked UBC St. Poelten in St.Poelten.
