Regular Season Round 11: Elchingen - Wuerzburg 80-79

There was a change at the ProB leadership position after last games. Round 11 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Wuerzburg (9-2). They were edged by second ranked Elchingen (9-2) 80-79 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Wuerzburg. It was a key game for the top position in South. They outrebounded Wuerzburg 46-32 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Croatian Karlo Miksic (192-97) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized Croatian forward Luka Kamber (203-94, college: Nicholls St.) helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. Elchingen's coach Igor Perovic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Cameron Hunt (196, college: Southwestern, KS) responded with 24 points and 6 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Rytis Pipiras (201-95) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Five Elchingen and four Wuerzburg players scored in double figures. Elchingen have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They keep a position of South leader, which they share with defeated Wuerzburg. Wuerzburg will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Elchingen will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Wuerzburg on the road.
